There was mixed joy, and anxiety in Jimmiville, Fish Town, River Gee County, after a 36-year-old woman successfully gave birth to triplets.
The triplets, a boy and two girls, were born at the J.J. Dossen Memorial Hospital in Harper, Maryland County.
Anita Weah, a resident of Jimmiville, safely delivered three healthy babies on Tuesday, September 9, in what has become one of the most talked-about births in recent months for the locals.
Mrs. Weah spoke of being filled with surprise, and anxiety throughout her pregnancy, “because I had never given birth to twins, or triplets.”
She said, as the pregnancy progressed, and her stomach grew unusually large, she became increasingly worried, “because I did not understand what was happening inside my womb.”
Mrs. Weah said, her fear turned into joy, and thanksgiving after she successfully delivered all three babies without any complications.
Mrs. Weah attributed her safe delivery to the grace, and protection from the Almighty God.
All three babies are currently in good health with no complications reported since birth.
Mrs. Weah has meanwhile, made a passionate appeal to humanitarian organizations, philanthropists, well-meaning Liberians, community members, charitable groups, and the general public for assistance.
“We need help. To take care of three babies at once is not easy. I am asking for help from anyone who can support us with baby clothes, pampers, food, and other things for the children.”
The birth of the triplets has generated excitement and celebration across Jimmiville, Fish Town and surrounding communities.
