In Robertsport:
Residents ‘Attack’ Finance Ministry’s Employee
Anarchy was reportedly bridled on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, against an employee of the Ministry of Finance, Development Planning (MFDL) in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County.
The incident was said to nearly result to the death of Alvin G. Kwanue, County Monitoring Officer (CMO) assigned at the Service Center in Robertsport.
Kwanue was on June 23, 2025, transferred to the county from Grand Gedeh County, where he worked for many years.
He was allegedly attacked and beaten along with his junior, Alves.
The last son of the victim, Pa George, was rescued by ‘good Samaritan’ from the attackers, who allegedly threatened to burst open his (Alvin’s) left eyeball, having inflicted so much bruises on his body.
Unfortunately, Kwanue’s attackers did not know him, but were only eager to beat him due to what seems to be tribal sentiment.
However, his workmates from the County Service Center rushed Mr. Kwanue and Alves to the St. Timothy Hospital where they were admitted under emergency care.
Police assigned in the city up to the time of the incident did not make any arrest, as they were reportedly compiling information on the beating of Alvin and his son by ‘an angry crowd’ of marauding residents from the Kru Town Community.
Alvin told this newspaper via cell phone interview that on Wednesday, December 3, he encountered his landlord daughter, a female minor, under the cover of darkness.
“While encouraging the minor to go home, I saw an angry-looking crowd of men that started beating on me and my children with the intent to kill me. I only remembered the scene when I regained consciousness at the hospital,” the victim narrated.
What was so terrible about the incident, according to some Up-Town Community residents, was that while Mr. Kwanue and his son were at the hospital, some residents of the Kru Town Community gathered men, allegedly armed with deadly objects to go to the victim’s residence in the Up Town neighborhood for another attack, but they were prevented from doing so by the chair.
Meanwhile, while the Ministry of Finance is reportedly awaiting the detail from the police, Mr. Kwanue and his son have been discharged from the hospital and are nursing their bruises at home.
