Gaye 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐀𝐈 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭or

Executive Protection Service (EPS) Director, Sam Gaye, has defended the recent arrest of an individual accused of cybercrime.

Gaye warned those involved to stop, or else, they will be arrested and prosecuted, “because, creating, and sharing AI-manipulated content to humiliate others, is now a punishable offense under the law.”

Gaye’s reaction follows public commentary surrounding the arrest of a suspected individual, who created, and circulated a fake, humiliating video depicting Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung at Brussels Airport in Belgium.

He addressed critics of police action to arrest individual(s) connected to the AI content creation.

Gaye emphasized the urgent need to arrest anyone connected to the cybercrime; executed such person(s) in accordance with the enacted Cybercrime Act of 2025/2026.

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai signed the Act into law on August 19.

He said, the new legislation explicitly categorizes cyber-harassment, and cyber-bullying as criminal acts.

“Under the law, generating, or sharing manipulated images, and videos designed to insult, humiliate, or threaten any individual constitutes a cybercrime. To those making noise about why the police arrested the individual, who created the fake, humiliating video footage of the VP at Brussels airport; it is a crime under the new Cybercrime Act.”

Gaye cautioned individual(s) engaging in digital manipulation to desist, or else, law enforcement agencies are equipped to track down offenders online.

“Now you know what you’re doing with that AI manipulation is a crime. Cyber detectives will find you, and you will be arrested, and prosecuted.”
