Government, through collaboration between national police leadership, and local authorities, has strengthened security operations.
The process was held in Grand Kru County when a brand-new vehicle was commissioned for use by the Liberia National Police (LNP) assigned in the county.
The vehicle was officially commissioned on Wednesday, October 28, at the county Administration Building by local authorities on behalf of Acting County Superintendent, Alphonso N. Teah.
The use of the vehicle is to improve police mobility, enhance emergency response, and strengthen security patrols, particularly in communities where poor road conditions, and limited transportation have posed challenges to law enforcement operations.
St the ceremony, the county police Commander, Bicarba Jallah, commended Police Inspector General Gregory O. W. Coleman, for the initiative.
Jalllah said, the coming of the vehicle was necessary to address the logistical difficulties that have confronted officers over the years.
He explained how the new vehicle will be particularly beneficial to police operations in District #2, where spoiled road conditions, and transportation constraints have often affected officers’ ability to reach communities in time of any eventuality.
He expressed optimism that the additional transportation support will increase police patrol, improve emergency response, and strengthen the presence of law enforcement personnel throughout the county.
Meanwhile, Teah has welcomed the provision of the vehicle. He described it as an important contribution to efforts that will improve public safety, and strengthen the security sector.
He also underscored the importance of continued cooperation between national security authorities, and local government officials to address operational challenges, and promote peace and stability.
