“I Used Fake Publicity That Brought Boakai To Power:

Infamous social media personality Justin Oldpa Yeaseahn, alias Prophet Key, has called for the cancellation of the Cybercrime Act.

He said, the Act should not be practiced in the country, though President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has approved it.

Prophet Key has meanwhile, confessed to broadcasting propaganda-based contents, and self-created lies that brought Pres. Boakai and the ruling Unity Party to power.

He told Spoon TV: “This government came to power based on propaganda, fake publicity, and my self-designed information. We said George Weah, and his government stole US$16 billion, but the forensic investigators reported on the contrary. So, it means everything we said about the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) government stealing US$16 billion was just lies. There are many things we said during the CDC time, and we never had evidence to support them, but we were pushing them as propaganda. George Weah allowed those things to slide. So, I think George Weah won when it comes to freedom of expression. This government should not be the one chasing people on social media, because it was through social media advocacy, and lies that we used to make the George Weah government unpopular.

 So, maybe, they know the impact of social media, and that is why they are trying to destroy it.” Spoon TV.

 Cybercrime Act

In a related news, Prophet Key has also said, Cybercrime Law should not be practiced in the country.

He has meanwhile, called for the Cybercrime Act not to be practiced here.

 His comment followed the approval of the law by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.

Prophet Key: “The law is an attempt by the government to silence social media advocates, and critics.”

He argued that its provisions are not healthy for a peaceful Liberia.

He also expressed concern that the law could be used to wrongly punish content creators, and comedians, whose work may be intended for entertainment, rather than to cause harm.

Prophet Key’s comments come following the recent arrest of one Jerry Wratto, who reportedly used the image of Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung to create AI-generated videos that the Liberia National Police said, were in violation of the Cybercrime Law.

He spoke Sunday, September 20, during a Spoon FM interview in Monrovia.
