PCP Beats Market Woman, But…
All held nearly broke loose recently in the Red-Light market when uniform officers from the Paynesville City Police (PCP) mercilessly beat a peaceful market woman to death.
For that behavior meanwhile, the City authorities have condemned the officers for “unnecessarily beating the young woman.”
The Corporation said, the beating of a young market woman by officers of PCP was barbaric, uncivilized, and meanwhile promised immediate investigation.
The condemnation comes after a video of the incident went viral on social media on Saturday, October 17, showing city police officers outrightly brutalizing the woman.
In a statement, PCC said, it was deeply concerned about the video, and stressed the need for such behavior not to be repeated, “because, it goes completely against the professional standards, and values of the City Police and the Corporation as a whole.”
In the aftermath of the incident, Paynesville City Mayor, Robert S. Bestman, II, ordered a full and impartial investigation.
Bestman instructed the Professional Investigative Unit of the Paynesville City Police to identify all officers involved in the act, and report back without delay.
The Corporation also warned that any officer found guilty will face disciplinary action in line with the law, and its own internal regulations.
PCC reaffirmed that it remains committed to protect the rights, safety and dignity of all residents, and will continue to ensure that city police officers act with professionalism, and respect for human rights.
