The office of Grand Kru County Administrative Officer, Alphonso DN Teah, has rejected a recent report published by Punch TV.
Punch TV recently claimed that the county immediately began pavement works on the Pleebo/Barclayville road corridor following the arrival of government road-construction equipment.
Punch TV, an online media platform associated with Unity Party activist Patrick Honnah, reported that the county wasted no time putting the newly arrived “yellow machines” to use.
The station suggested in its reportage that local authorities commenced road pavement on the same day the equipment arrived in the county.
The report further quoted county officials as saying: “The road corridor between Pleebo, and Barclayville was in such poor condition that the equipment could not proceed until a passage was cleared.”
In his reaction, Teah described the report as “misleading.”
He said, the county has not commenced any road-pavement with the newly arrived equipment.
The equipment, he said, “remains parked, and has not been deployed for road construction, or pavement work. At no time did the county begin operating the yellow machines for road pavement upon their arrival.”
