Reverend D. Elijah Willie Toe, Missionary and Senior Pastor of Zion Assembly of God Church, and Board Chairperson of Voice of Grand Kru 98.1 FM, has admonished Grand Kru County residents to put aside tribal differences, discrimination, and division in the interest of peace and development.
Toe admonition was contained in his Independence Day message at service held during the 179th Independence Anniversary.
He said, the progress of Grand Kru, and the country depends largely on citizens’ ability to work together, and respect one another despite their differences.
Toe reminded citizens that their shared humanity serves as a foundation for unity, emphasizing the importance of recognizing God as the common source of all people.
Rev. Toe also appealed to citizens to demonstrate loyalty to Grand Kru County, while respecting those entrusted with leadership.
Leadership, he said, is temporary and rotational, and citizens should therefore respect leaders in office today, knowing that the positions may be occupied by others tomorrow.
Toe further encouraged citizens to apply the biblical principle of treating others as they would want to be treated.
He described mutual respect, and love as essential ingredients for peaceful coexistence.
Rev. Toe urged the Voice of Grand Kru 98.1 FM Radio to continue serving as a platform for truth, unity, and progress, regardless of tribal identity, political affiliation, or social background.
He meanwhile, called on the locals to use the occasion of the Independence Day as an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of true freedom.
