‘Unfounded, False, Misleading’ Suspension Of Deputy Minister Of State For Presidential Affairs Refuted By: Julius Konton
The Office of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has termed as unfounded, false, and misleading as well as fake information, that President Joseph Boakai has suspended Deputy Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Cornelius KruahTogba for her alleged involvement into nomination and or appointments by the Chief Executive. “At no time did the President take such an action,” the Office of President Boakai re-emphasized. Moreover, the Office of the President states all nominations and subsequent appointments are the responsibility and prerogative of the President as guaranteed by Article 54 of the Liberian Constitution and that it is the sole decision of the President to select officials of government who work at his will and pleasure. The alleged and fake information as described by the Office of the Liberian leader was in reference to appointments which constitutionally fall in the preview of the President. At the same time, the Office of the President calls on the public to be mindful and not to heed to information outside the official presidential sources attributed to the President. The Office reiterates the President’s commitment to working for the Liberian people’s greater good in fulfilling his Agriculture, Road, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation & Tourism (ARREST) Agenda.
