U.S. Embassy Liberia Chargé d’Affaires Joseph Zadrozny last Friday praised the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) and joint security actors for intercepting 198 compressed plates of cocaine valued at more than US$19 million that were bound for export through Roberts International Airport.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of police and LDEA officers at the Police Academy, Zadrozny described the seizure as the second-largest cocaine interdiction in Liberia’s recent history and said it reflects the strength of the partnership between Liberia and the United States.

He said the successful operation was the result of years of sustained U.S.-Liberia investment in training, mentorship, and equipment for security institutions. According to him, the achievement demonstrates how cooperation between the two countries is helping to build capacity, protect Liberian communities, and weaken criminal networks that threaten global peace and security.

Zadrozny also commended LDEA Deputy Commissioner and Officer-in-Charge Fitzgerald Biago and all officers involved in the operation, applauding their efforts in securing one of the countries biggest drug seizures.
