Senator Dillon Criticized For Public Apology

Former Representative Vincent S. T. Willie has strongly criticized Senator Abe Darius Dillon, accusing him of hypocrisy and selfish motivations in his criticism of President George Weah. In a pointed statement, Willie claimed that Dillon’s remarks were calculated, hypocritical, and rooted in self-interest. “Your criticism of President Weah was hypocritical, calculated, and motivated by selfish gain,” Willie stated. He added that many of those who condemned the president’s use of private jets, including Dillon, were aware of the reasons behind such decisions, especially given Dillon’s previous travels with former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. According to Willie, those criticizing Weah for actions they themselves understood in the past were misleading and deceiving the Liberian people.  Willie then called on Dillon to take responsibility for his actions, urging him to issue a public apology to the Liberian people. “Instead of apologizing to President Weah, I would advise you to apologize publicly to all Liberians,” Willie said. “A public apology for deceiving and misleading them would be the first step toward sincerity, good conscience, and true leadership.” Willie also accused Dillon and his team of contributing to the spread of misinformation that continues to negatively affect the Liberian people, who are already struggling with daily challenges. “Please, stop the bluff and showmanship. Liberians are struggling, and your team’s misinformation is making it harder for them.” In his closing remarks, Willie expressed his frustration with the current state of political discourse, using a local expression to convey his point: “We know tin naa fine ownpa,” signaling his belief that the situation has become increasingly complicated and difficult to navigate.
