The Kweshie Tetteh Foundation (KTF) has awarded 87 fully funded scholarships to students from seven schools.
The schools are located in Salala District, Lower Bong County.
The donation is part of efforts to improve access to education, and reduce the financial burden on families.
The beneficiaries are drawn from Totota Lutheran High School, E. Jancy High School, Martha Tubman High School, Fehlah Public School, Gbalema Public School, John Gowans High School and Mamadi Junior High School.
The intervention is to enable students from communities with limited educational resources to remain in school, and pursue their academic goals without the added pressure of school-related expenses.
KTF Chief Executive Officer, Kweshie Tetteh, said the Foundation remains committed to reduce financial barriers that prevent young people from accessing quality education.
Tetteh said, investing in education and skills development is critical to empowering young people, and preparing them to contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.
The students appreciated the scholarships, saying: “the assistance would help ease the financial pressure on our families, and allow us to concentrate more on our studies.”
In addition to the scholarship program, the Foundation donated a 55-inch television, and a DSTV package to the Tutmutu Agriculture and Vocational Training Center in Salala District #6.
The equipment will provide students access educational programs, agricultural documentaries, and other learning content.
They students welcomed the donation, specifically the television and DSTV package that would expose them to modern agricultural techniques.
The Foundation operates under the motto: “Nurturing Potential and Empowering Generations.”
