Businesspeople were left stranded on Tuesday, October 13, when River Dorbor in Bolloh Statutory District, Grand Kru County overflow its banks.

The situation disrupted transportation, and commercial activities, particularly for businesspeople traveling from Buah, and surrounding communities due to the damaged Chemgbetee Bridge.

Reports indicate that accessing the Doeswen Clinic has also become increasingly difficult, especially when health workers need to refer patients to other facilities for further attention.

Market women, and commercial motorcyclists, have been among the hardest hit.

Every Tuesday is Geeken Market Day, but the overflowing river has prevented motorcycles from crossing, disrupting the movement of traders, goods, and customers.

The Chemgbetee Bridge links the Buah/Geeken route to Sinoe County.

Recently, community residents, and miners mobilized, and launched a self-help initiative, when they raised L$1 million through district officials to construct a temporary plank bridge. However, the initiative was rejected by the Grand Kru County Administration, leaving residents increasingly concerned about how to address the transportation crisis.
