Bong County Electoral District #7 Representative, Foday E. Fahnbulleh, has donated a 1,000-watt transmitter to Radio Bong Mines.

Fahnbulleh described the contribution as part of effort to improve access to information, and strengthen community broadcasting.

He said, the donation reflects his belief that residents of Fuamah and Sanoyea districts deserve reliable information, and access to a strong media platform capable of highlighting their concerns and community activities.

“It is therefore a personal honor for me to donate a 1,000-watt transmitter to Radio Bong Mines.”

The new transmitter is expected to improve the broadcasting capacity, and strengthen its ability to reach communities in Fuamah, Sanoyea and Salala districts, as well as other distant parts of Bong County.

Fahnbulleh further said, the improved transmission capacity could potentially extend Radio Bong Mines’ signal beyond the county into parts of Grand Bassa, Margibi, Lower Montserrado, Gbarpolu, Bomi, Lower Lofa, and Grand Cape Mount counties.

He described the donation as more than the provision of technical equipment, saying: “It represents an investment in communication, community engagement and access to timely information.”

“This donation is more than just equipment; it is part of my personal commitment to strengthen communication, connect our communities, promote the good work of our government, and ensure that more of our people have access to timely and reliable information.”

Fahnbulleh said, community radio plays an important role in bridging information gaps, particularly in rural areas where residents rely heavily on radio for news, public announcements, educational programs, and information about government and community activities.

The contribution comes as community radio stations continue to serve as important sources of information, particularly for populations in rural and underserved areas.
