Gbarpolu County has opened the first modern pharmacy.

Located in Bopolu City, pharmacy has been dedicated, and officially announced opened as a new pharmaceutical facility to improve access to quality and affordable medicines.

The pharmacy was established by Aaron F. Mulbah, and named in memory of his late mother, Hawa, whose concern for the welfare of mothers, children and pregnant women inspired the establishment.

Mulbah said, he initially started the business years ago, but later closed the facility to allow for expansion, remodeling and modernization of government developments.

The upgraded facility, Mulbah said, has been established to operate in line with the pharmaceutical laws, regulations and operational requirements. It will respond to the growing demand for reliable pharmaceutical services in the county.

Mulbah described the opening as more than a commercial venture, saying: “It represents the fulfillment of a dream connected to his late mother’s commitment to the health and welfare of people.

He memorialized his mother concerned about the well-being of mothers, children, and pregnant women in her hometown in Korninga Chiefdom.

Mulbah also disclosed plans to establish a drug store in his hometown of Tawalata in the future as part of efforts to extend access to medicines beyond Bopolu City.

He appealed to the Gbarpolu County Health Team to consider Hawa’s Modern Pharmacy as a potential point of contact for medicines, and supply, provided the facility continues to meet the required standards.
