Pro-Temp Lawrence Calls For Thorough Investigation In Capitol Building Fire Incident

The President Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate, Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence, has expressed regret and termed as unfortunate Wednesday’s morning fire incident that gutted and completely destroyed the joint Chamber and adjacent offices at the Capitol, the official seat of the Liberian Legislature. In an interview at the Capitol following an engagement with President Joseph N. Boakai, pro-Temp Lawrence said: “ The fire incident MUST be thoroughly investigated to determine the cause, and where applicable, justice must be served without fear or favor “. On behalf of the Liberian Senate, the Pro-Temp extended deepest gratitude and appreciation to the dedicated team of firefighters who bravely responded to the fire outbreak at the Capitol building’s joint Chamber. She added that their swift and courageous actions in the face of danger prevented the spread of the fire to other parts of the building and safeguard the lives of those present. “ To the brave Firefighters and first responders from the Liberia National Fire Service, Liberia Petroleum Refining Company, Sethi brothers, and the Liberia Water and Sewer Cooperation, we say thank you. Your professionalism and teamwork during this critical incident exemplify the highest standards of service and commitment to our Country”. Pro-Temp Lawrence acknowledged.
