Montserrado County Senator Saah H. Joseph has urged all healthcare workers to reconsider their Go-Slow action and to prioritize the lives and health of those who depend on them. In a statement Thursday at his Capitol building office, Senator Joseph called on the government and relevant stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogue with healthcare workers to address their concerns swiftly and equitably. “I acknowledge the challenges faced by healthcare workers in our country, but I must express my deep concern regarding the current go-slow action being taken by some in the healthcare sector” he added. The Montserrado County Senator said while he recognizes the right of all workers to advocate for better conditions, such actions in the healthcare field have far-reaching and potentially devastating consequences for the lives of ordinary citizens. According to him, healthcare workers are the backbone of the nation’s well-being, and their dedication has always been commendable.  However, Senator Joseph mentioned that choosing to slow down essential medical services, particularly in times of heightened need, puts vulnerable patients at risk, undermines public trust, and jeopardizes the stability of the Country’s healthcare system.

He started that resolving these issues requires mutual understanding, not actions that endanger the well-being of citizens. Senator Joseph pledged that:   “As senior Senator of Montserrado County, I am committed to work with all parties to find a lasting solution that ensures our healthcare workers feel supported while safeguarding the lives and health of the Liberian people”He c oncluded by saying that together we must strive for a balanced approach that upholds both the rights of workers and the critical needs of our citizens.
