Poetic Trumpet

Sometimes I Sit and Blame God

Sometimes I sit and blame God.

Out of frustration, I sit and blame God.

Since the devil rules this fallen world, I blame God.

Because evil men prosper, I sit and blame God.

Because humble people often suffer, I blame God.

Because the world is shrouded in sin and darkness, I blame God.

Because evil men occupy the highest places, I blame God.

Because the wicked often boast, I blame God.

Because judgment is yet to come, I blame God.

Because the wicked reign like kings, I blame God.

Because temptation spreads everywhere, I blame God.

Because justice is denied to the poor, I blame God.

Sometimes I am compelled to blame God.

I blame God for allowing the devil to rule this world.

I blame God for giving the wicked a long rope.

I blame God for allowing evil to test us.

I blame God for delaying Judgment Day.

I blame God for giving the wicked so much time.

Yet I still believe that He hears our cries.

Yet I still believe the wicked will pay the price.

Yet I still believe the humble will rise at last.

Yet I still believe that Judgment Day is drawing near.

Yet I still believe that God’s justice will prevail.

Yet I still believe His mercy and truth will endure forever.
