Phebe Hospital has received a consignment of pediatric surgical equipment, and medical supplies valued at approximately US$4,000.

The donation is to strengthen the hospital’s capacity to provide essential healthcare services to children.

The items were presented by Dr. Domingo Gomez, a pediatric surgeon at Phebe Hospital, as part of efforts to support pediatric healthcare delivery, and improve the hospital’s ability to respond to the medical, and surgical needs of children.

The materials are intended to strengthen operations within the hospital’s pediatric ward, where medical personnel provide care to children requiring specialized treatment, and other essential health services.

Stephen Z. Korviah, who received the donation for the hospital, expressed appreciation to Dr. Gomez for the contribution.

Korviah described the gesture as timely, and important to the institution’s operations.

He said, the donation comes at a critical period for Phebe Hospital, which continues to provide healthcare services to patients from Bong County, and other parts of the country.

Korviah described Dr. Gomez’s contribution as a “meaningful intervention that demonstrates the importance of individual commitment to strengthen healthcare institutions.”

He said, the donation should also serve as an example to other Liberians, particularly sons and daughters of Bong County living abroad, who have the capacity to contribute to the development of healthcare services in the county.

Korviah called on citizens at home and abroad to emulate Dr. Gomez’s gesture by supporting Phebe Hospital with equipment, medical supplies, and other forms of assistance that could improve healthcare delivery.

Phebe Hospital serves as a major referral facility for the central region.

The donated materials are expected to assist medical personnel in providing pediatric surgical, and medical services, and could contribute to improve the quality of care available to children.

Hospital authorities welcomed the contribution, and expressed the hope that the equipment, and supplies would strengthen pediatric services, and contribute to better health outcomes for children.
