The Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC) has provided Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment to the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA).
The provision is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the implementation, and adoption of the Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) System.
The equipment was received on behalf of NaFAA by an authorized representative of the Authority during the PPCC’s continuing distribution exercise.
The exercise targets ministries, agencies, and commissions.
The support intends to enhance NaFAA’s technological capacity, and enable the institution to effectively participate in the e-GP System, while conducting procurement-related activities through the digital platform.
The head of NaFAA, at the ceremony, expressed appreciation to PPCC for the intervention.
He said, the equipment will strengthen the Authority’s operational capacity, and facilitate its transition to electronic procurement processes.
PPCC says, the distribution is part of initiative to provide public institutions with the technological resources needed to move from traditional procurement practices to a more efficient, transparent, and digitally driven system.
The Commission expects the ICT support to improve operational efficiency, strengthen compliance with public procurement procedures, and promote greater transparency, and accountability in the management of public resources.
The ongoing initiative underscores PPCC’s commitment to equip public institutions with tools, and capacity needed to fully embrace the e-GP System, and advance the modernization of public procurement sector.
