The Liberia Chapter of the Mano River Union Youth Parliament (MRUYP-LC) has commended President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. for his decisive action in dismissing and suspending government officials implicated in drug-related cases.

In a press statement issued over the weekend, the youth organization emphasized that President Boakai’s decision addresses the significant portion of the population that has suffered immensely and continues to bear the brunt of narcotic substance importation.

The statement, signed by Daniel Nama Nills, the 4th Speaker of the Youth Parliament, highlighted that the government will no longer tolerate the devastating impact these substances have on communities and the future of the nation.

It is particularly egregious, the statement noted, that individuals in positions of responsibility within the government are allegedly involved in drug proliferation. Such actions are unequivocally condemned as acts of evil.

The Youth Parliament expressed its full commitment to supporting the President in ensuring a thorough investigation and bringing anyone connected to these drug cases to justice, without bias or vested interest.

“We vehemently reject the notion of Liberia being used as a transit hub for drugs. Immediate action is essential to expose all individuals involved and safeguard the integrity and future of the nation,” the release added.
