Maryland County District #1 Representative, P. Mike Jurry, has officially launched his second-quarter constituency tour, pledging to stay close to the people through direct engagement and tangible development projects.
The tour is designed to listen to community concerns, provide immediate relief, and unveil new infrastructure and services aimed at improving livelihoods across the district.
Rep. Jurry said the meetings will focus on pressing issues including road access, youth employment, safety, and the rising cost of living.
He emphasized that feedback from these sessions will guide his legislative and development priorities for the rest of the year.
On Thursday, July 30, 2026, Rep. Jurry dedicated a newly completed bridge in New Kru Town Community.
Local leaders said the bridge has been a long-standing need, as residents previously struggled to cross during the rainy season.
The new structure is expected to improve transportation, connect farmers to markets, and allow quicker access to health and school facilities.
As part of the tour’s relief component, Rep. Jurry will distribute more than 100 bags of rice to vulnerable households across selected communities in the district.
He will also donate a Starlink internet system to Hoffman Station.
According to him, the satellite internet will provide affordable, reliable connectivity for students, teachers, and community members.
“Digital learning is the future. This Starlink will help our young people stay connected to educational resources and global information without depending on unstable networks,” Hon. Jurry stated. Meanwhile, Friday, July 31 was set by Rep. Jurry to officiate the opening of the new MC2 Bank branch in Harper City.
He noted that the bank’s presence will reduce the need for residents to travel to other counties for banking, while also creating direct and indirect employment opportunities.
He encouraged residents to take advantage of savings, loan, and mobile banking services.
The constituency visit underscores Rep. Jurry’s strategy of combining grassroots consultation with concrete projects.
“Leadership is about being with the people and delivering for the people,” he said. “We are listening, and we are acting.”
