The complaint was filed to the commission by a Candidate in the election and Speaker of the House of Representative Dr. Bhofal chamber who alleged among other things that the process was marred by irregularities. Despite the urgency attached to the complaint with supporters of Dr. Chamber threatening to take matters into their own hands, NEC is yet to launch a formal investigation into the matter leading to suspicion that the commission may have been bribed to down play the complaint. A well-placed source hinted this paper via telephone from the district that Chamber followers who according to election result lost to his opponent are planning a mass demonstration in the County headquarters Harper this week to protest NEC irresponsible action. According to the source the demonstrators will parade the principal streets of Harper with placards expressing their anger and frustration over delay to hear the complaint and render judgment in the matter Our source quoted one of the organizers name withheld, as saying that if the commission failed to conduct hearing into the complaint other options including sit down strike at NEC head office in Monrovia will be used to compel the commission compliance. Hearing into the election related case has been postpone by the National Election Commission for the fourth time running with no clear explanation for the action causing serious uproars among supporter of Dr. Chambers and others citizens of Maryland County as well. Many Marylanders are now saying that Commission Boss Davieta Brown Lansana allegedly received bribe from a well-known political enemies of the Speaker to delay the entire hearing until the new government take office in January next year. It is not clear who the political enemies are, although supporters of Maryland County electoral district two often accuse the Deputy Speaker Representative Fonati Koffa of masterminding the downfall of their candidate to gain relevance in the upcoming Speaker election. One die-heard supporter of Dr. Chamber who preferred not to be named said he overheard the deputy Speaker instructing a female election officer assigned in Pleebo ahead of the process to turn the result in favor of Chamber challenger in return for a handsome reward. Another supporter alleged that the Deputy Speaker was behind the interference of the Country devil into the election process which prevented voters in Dr. Chamber strongholds from taking part in the process. Deputy Speaker Fonati Koffa who is busy building his block for the election of the Speaker has always denied knowledge of his Boss political misfortune. Meanwhile the hearing has been schedule for today Monday November 27 2023 to be held at NEC Central office on Nine Street Sinkor.
