LNDMA, Rep. Toles Rally To Support Fire Victims
In an effort to address the aftermath of a fire outbreak in District #8 (11th Street, Sinkor), Montserrado County, the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) and District #8 Representative Prince Toles, have provided swift relief and essential aid to the affected residents.
The LNDMA Executive Director, Ansu Dorley, and Rep. Toles visited the scene together, thus underscoring the need to form a collaborative approach in addressing disaster issues in the district and the country at large. The NDMA, led by Dorley, presented 12 mattresses and food supply that included rice, chicken soup, blankets, among others to the victims. Making remarks at the scene over the weekend, MD Dorley emphasized the agency’s dedication to managing disaster-related activities, despite being overwhelmed by the frequency and scale of recent disasters across the country. Toles expressed gratitude to the NDMA for its rapid response, and pledged his support in working with the institution aimed at increasing the agency budget to improve its capacity for quick disaster response. The Lawmaker also gave an initial contribution of L$50,000 to further assist the fire victims, thus demonstrating his commitment to supporting his constituents in time of crisis. Meanwhile, the Community Chairperson, Awee Mitchell, thanked both the NDMA and Rep. Toles for their immediate and effective response, while highlighting the importance of government and community collaboration in disaster relief efforts. The joint visit and contributions from the NDMA and Rep.
