The current leadership of the Liberia National Bar Association has completed and furnished the first floor of its headquarters office currently under construction in the Tower Hill Community, Roberts field Highway. The completion of the floor will now enable the leadership to move into the facility while works are continuing. Speaking over the weekend during a guided tour with media practitioners to see the progress of the construction, Project Committee Chair, Bobby Livingstone, said the completion of the floor is to assure members of the institution that the current leadership places huge priority on the completion of the project. Cllr. Livingstone said the narrative that the project has been abandoned is far from the truth and only intended for negative propaganda during this critical moment when the Bar National Convention and Elections draw near. The LNBA project committee Chairman stated that the project is in full swing and can never be abandoned. He assured members of the LNBA that works on the facilities are going well despite being a little bit slow. Also speaking during the guided tour, the Chief Executive Officer of JES; the company hired to do the construction, Joseph Dennis, said they were glad to conclude the first phase of the project which commenced since signing the contract. JES CEO Dennis indicated that the first phase of the project which was intended to be implemented for eight weeks has gone ninety percent and will be absolutely completed by this week. In his remark, the President of the Liberia National Bar Association, Cllr. Sylvester D. Rennie, extended the project committee for the headquarters of the site visit to acquaint the leadership with the progress on the project. He disclosed that funding’s are available for the completion of the project. The LNBA President noted that the completion of the Bar’s headquarters will serve as a major breakthrough for the institution. He expressed delight over the level of work that has been done so far. “The completion of the LNBA headquarters is one of the major discussion points as the bar prepares for convention and elections next week” President Rennie noted. LNBA President Rennie narrated that some members of the Bar have been extremely critical on the current leadership, accusing it of doing almost nothing to finish the project. He said the current progress is a major relief and breakthrough for the organization and its members as it appears they will now have their own space to conduct the affairs of the organization.
