Koon Celebrates Liberians

House Speaker of the 55th Legislature, Richard Nagbe Koon, as extolled Liberians for their resilience, courage and Visions over the years.

Koon, meanwhile, extended warmest congratulations and best wishes to all Liberians at home, and abroad as the country celebrated the 179th Independence Anniversary.

He recalled how July 26 each year reminds Liberians of the courage, resilience, and vision of their founding fathers, and all those who have sacrificed to preserve the peace, unity, and sovereignty of the Land.

“It is a time to reflect on our shared history, celebrate our progress, and renew our commitment to build a stronger, more prosperous, and inclusive Liberia.”

Koon assured Liberians and partners about the 55th Legislature remaining steadfast in its constitutional responsibility to enact laws that would promote good governance, strengthen democratic institutions, improve public service delivery, and advance the welfare of every Liberian.

He revealed how the legislature remains committed to foster accountability, transparency, and national development through constructive legislations, and effective oversight.

Koon conceded challenges the nation continues to face with resilience, thereby giving the legislature confidence that together, they can overcome every obstacle.

“Let this Independence Day inspire us to put the national interest above personal-self, and political differences, embrace unity in diversity, and work collectively to create opportunities for future generations.
