On Sunday, June 14, 2026, a family in the Tuklor Community of Grandcess, Grand Kru County were made homeless by a fallen plum tree.
The incident occurred when a large plum tree felled on their house and rendered it into debris.
The fallen tree caused extensive damage to the structure and destroyed several household utensils while members of the family were carrying out their normal activities.
Madam Josephine Blamoh, sadly told reporters that she was attending a church service on that fateful Sunday when she received a distress call from her daughter informing her that a huge plum tree had fallen on their home.
Madam Blamoh said, the tree completely damaged the master bedroom, and also affected a significant portion of the living room.
She said, the impact destroyed her bed and damaged numerous pieces of furniture and other valuable household items.
Despite the extensive destruction, Madam Blamoh expressed gratitude to God that no one was injured during the incident.
She said, her husband had been resting in the house shortly before the incident occurred.
Residents described the incident as “unfortunate and heartbreaking.” They noted that it has increased the suffering of the affected family and set back their efforts to improve their living conditions.
Witnesses who observed the fallen tree said, it had developed a large hollow section, which may have weakened its standing.
Meanwhile, Madam Blamoh has appealed to government authorities, humanitarian organizations, community leaders, and other well-meaning individuals to assist her family in their ordeal.
