Chief Justice, His Honor Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay, has with immediate effect, barred Emmanuel Hilter, a city solicitor at the Ministry of Justice, from practicing law in any court within the country, “because, he is fake without holding any recognized legal knowledge.”
Hilter, as a fake lawyer, his prohibition was issued on Tuesday, July 28, following an investigative report into his own complaint filed against Her Honor, Naomi Crusoe, Stipendiary Magistrate of Owens Grove Magisterial Court in Grand Bassa County.
The complaint was filed before the Chief Justice, His Honor Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay.
Hitler had attempted to convince Magistrate Crusoe to represent his client in court as a Counselor-at-Law, but Magistrate Crusoe refused to allow him to participate in the trial, “because he failed to produce his license as Counselor-at-Law.”
Upon persistent demand, Miller instead, presented his ID card from the Ministry of Justice as a “city solicitor.”
Furious, and enraged, Hitler reportedly walked out of the courtroom with his client, insulted the Magistrate, and assaulted a bailiff, who attempted to arrest him.
In the confusion that ensured, Miller was subdued, imprisoned, and he later filed a complaint against Magistrate Crusoe.
Meanwhile, Chief Justice Gbeisay conducted a preliminary hearing to determine whether there was sufficient unethical behavior to be forwarded to the Judicial Inquiry Commission (JIC); the body responsible for hearing matters of ethical transgression of judges, and magistrates.
During the hearing, Hilter, as a fake lawyer, admitted appearing before Her Honor, Magistrate Naomi Crusoe, as a Counselor-At-Law with seven years of experience, and in fact, he was the dux of his class in the counsellorship examination; an employee of the Ministry of Justice, and had worked in several courts, including Paynesville, Monrovia City, Unification Town, Barnesville, and West Point.
However, Chief Justice Gbeisay, in his investigative report, also found that Magistrate Crusoe was under a duty to conduct a hearing, and take evidence on the allegation that Madam Teah (Hitler’s Client) was the one, who committed the criminal mischief, and broke the four-bedroom house on a disputed property in violation of her stay order, and proceed according to law.
Chief Justice Gbeisay concluded that Hitler’s actions were an “embarrassment to the judiciary, and formally barred him from all legal practice.”
Some magistrates have admitted and described Hitler as arrogant, and someone, who does not take advice, while others have indicated that as fake as he is, he pretends to be a high-profile lawyer, but does not understand the practice, and procedures, and his actions have damaged more cases in courts.
“In view of the investigation, the judiciary has decided to no longer tolerate the appearance of Hitler as a city solicitor in any of its courts. He has been prohibited from entering any courts under the guise of a city solicitor since he is not a lawyer, or a gentleman worthy of the legal profession,” Chief Justice Gbeisay declared.
