Eugene Nagbe Becomes CDC Campaign Manager
President George Manneh Weah Monday named the Commissioner General of the Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA), Lenn Eugene Nagbe, as Campaign Manager for the Congress of Democratic Change (CDC) in the upcoming Presidential and General elections on October 10 this year.
President Weah announced the appointment when thousands of partisans of the CDC gathered to appreciate him for services to the nation on Monday, July 17, 2023 at the National Headquarter of the party in Congo Town, outside Monrovia.
He said Mr. Nagbe, who was his former Secretary of CDC for years, has been doing his best, stating that he believes that the Maritime top official will do exceptionally well in his new position as Campaign Manager.
Nagbe has been a key player in national politics, serving as Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) when Dr. Weah first took office and later got an appointment as Commissioner General of the Liberia Maritime Authority (LMA).
Due to his tireless effort in the ruling government, Mr. Nagbe was recently named Chairman for Strategic Engagement of the CDC.
Meanwhile Mr. Nagbe has expressed appreciation to President Weah for his preferment and the confidence reposed in him by Dr. Weah, and has assured CDCians of his commitment to ensuring a victorious party in the October 10 polls.
“My job is one of the easiest jobs because the President has already made it easy for me. You have already given the President your vote, so I’m just here to coordinate,” the LiMA boss asserted.
He, at the same time, thanked the First Lady, the Vice President, CDC Governing Council and the National Auxiliary Committee for entrusting him with such portfolio.
Mr. Nagbe cautioned partisans that there is a pathway for first round victory and they should follow it, so as to avoid unnecessary spending on the second round.
“It is not over until it is over,” he stressed.
