LDEA Must Unveil the Ghostly Faces

0 3

THE LIBERIAN DRUG Enforcement Agency( LDEA) has reportedly arrested dangerous drugs of all kinds at the Roberts International Airport valued more than USD 19M.

THE LDEA IS yet to unveil the faces of those who are involved and doubt continues to grow eagle’s wings since no one has been brought to light in this case, although the LDEA says it’s conducting investigation behind the scene.

THAT DOUBT MAY not be allowed to grow mountainously and cause havoc; we demand speedy investigation and findings to let the dust of confusion settle, the dust of misinformation settle, the dust of miscalculation settle and the dust of negative politics settle.

LET THERE BE a speedy, transparent, and impartial investigation into the reported US$19 million drug case. Given the scale of the seizure, the matter is of significant national concern and deserves thorough scrutiny by relevant authorities.

LET THOSE INVOLVED be identified and prosecuted. The public wants to know all individuals directly involved.

THE PUBLIC IS interested in knowing whether any local or international networks facilitated the operation.

LET LDEA ENSURE that no suspect receives preferential treatment. She must provide regular updates to the public while protecting the integrity of the investigation.

THE GOVERNMENT MUST strengthen measures to prevent Liberia from being used as a transit point for narcotics trafficking.

THE CASE HAS already drawn the attention of Liberia’s House of Representatives, which has summoned key officials to explain aspects of the investigation and the handling of information related to suspects.

A SWIFT AND professional investigation, conducted according to the rule of law and due process, would help reinforce public confidence in Liberia’s justice and security institutions.
