The President of Grand Kru Technical College, Dr. Sarwee Joe Wiah Faeflen, has praised the Unity Party-led government for “tremendous changes” in the education sector of the county.

Dr. Faeflen made the remarks on Sunday, September 13, during stakeholders’ engagement with Finance Minister, and the locals in Barclayville City.

He said, the county education landscape has undergone significant changes since the current administration took office.

He pointed to improved access to examination facilities, technology advancement, and higher education.

Dr. Faeflen: “This government is doing tremendous changes in this county.”

He recalled how the conditions that existed when the administration assumed office does not exist anymore.

Dr. Faeflen also recalled how in the past, students who needed to sit for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) as resitters were often required to travel to neighboring Maryland, and Grand Gedeh counties.

But, according to Dr. Faeflen, collaboration between the Grand Kru County Education Office, and other stakeholders has changed that situation, with Barclayville now hosting resitters’ examinations.

He meanwhile, highlighted the introduction of technology-based educational resources. He cited the installation of Starlink internet services, a mini laboratory, and a well-equipped computer lab as examples of developments that have helped to expand access to modern educational tools in the county.

Dr. Faeflen’s comments come as the government continues to highlight investments in education, and human-capital development as part of its national development agenda.
