As Brand Factory Liberia Announces Availability of Locally Produced Packaging Materials

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – In a development expected to ease one of the biggest challenges facing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Liberia, Brand Factory Liberia has announced the availability of locally produced bottles and jars for businesses across the country.

The announcement was shared by the Chief Executive Officer of J-Palm Liberia, Mahmud Johnson through his official Facebook page, where he highlighted the company’s efforts to address one of the most pressing challenges facing local manufacturers—access to affordable and reliable packaging materials.

The initiative is geared towards helping emerging Liberian brands overcome persistent packaging shortages that often affect production, sales, and business growth.

“Access to affordable and reliable packaging has remained a major obstacle for many local manufacturers, particularly those involved in food processing, cosmetics, and other consumer products” Johnson said in a Facebook post.

For years, Liberian entrepreneurs have depended heavily on imported packaging materials from neighboring countries such as Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire. However, transportation costs and damages incurred during shipment have significantly increased expenses for businesses.

He added  “Importing packaging directly from China has also proven to be challenging due to long delivery times, which often require businesses to wait three to four months before receiving their orders.”

The new packaging solutions are designed to reduce these burdens by providing high-quality, affordable bottles and jars produced locally.

The J-Palm Liberia CEO believes that making packaging materials readily available within Liberia will enable entrepreneurs to focus more on manufacturing, marketing, and expanding their businesses rather than worrying about supply chain delays.

Currently, eight different packaging products are available for purchase through the company’s website. Brand Factory Liberia has also disclosed plans to expand its product range in the coming months to meet growing demand from local businesses.

In addition, the company has introduced a customer-request feature that allows entrepreneurs to upload photographs of packaging items not currently available in stock on its website. Through this service, Brand Factory Liberia will explore opportunities to design and produce customized packaging solutions tailored to the needs of local businesses.

Liberian business Executives have welcomed the move, saying it represents a pivotal step toward strengthening Liberia’s manufacturing sector, reducing dependence on imports, and supporting the growth of local enterprises.

“Thank you to Mahmud and team, this development will help improve production and service delivery to our customers” a Liberian Business Executive commented.

Business owners and entrepreneurs can access the available products and submit packaging requests through the company’s website as part of the effort to build a stronger and more self-reliant business environment in Liberia.
