Bong County Salala District Representative, Moima Briggs-Mensah, has commenced renovation, and partitioning of the New Totota Public School.
Madam Mensah has responded to concerns raised over inadequate learning facilities, and overcrowded classrooms at the institution.
The intervention followed recent social media posts, and public concerns that highlighted the difficult conditions faced by school-going children at the New Totota Public School.
The concerns prompted Bong County education authorities to engage the locals, and other stakeholders to identify immediate solutions to the challenges confronting the school.
Madam Briggs-Mensah has meanwhile, called on parents, community leaders, and other stakeholders to join her efforts and improve educational opportunities for children in Salala District.
She said, government alone cannot address all of the challenges facing the education sector, community participation, and collective action were necessary to improve schools, and create better learning conditions.
The renovation is to address some of the immediate infrastructure needs of the school, particularly classroom congestion.
Education stakeholders say, the intervention supports efforts to promote equitable access to quality education.
