The Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC) has intensified efforts to strengthen the implementation of Liberia’s Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) system through an engagement with heads of procurement from 56 government institutions currently being included on the digital platform.
The engagement, held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the commission’s office, brought together the PPCC Executive Director, members of the commission’s technical team, and procurement representatives from various Ministries, Agencies, and Commissions (MACs).
The meeting formed part of the commission’s regular breakfast engagement series, designed to assess progess, address implementation challenges, and explore opportunities to improve the effective use of the e-GP platform across government institutions.
During discussions, participating heads of procurement shared practical experiences regarding their institutions’ use of the system, highlighting operational difficulties, technical concerns, and other challenges affecting the smooth implementation of electronic procurement processes.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for participants to propose practical solutions aimed at addressing identified bottlenecks and improving the overall functionality and utilization of the platform. Another major focus of the meeting was the need to strengthen coordination between the PPCC and participating government institutions, particularly in identifying areas where additional technical assistance, guidance, and institutional support are required.
The Commission further emphasized the importance of ensuring that all on-boarded institutions comply with established e-GP implementation requirements as part of broader efforts to improve public procurement practices and institutional accountability.
The regular engagements are intended to create an effective communication channel between the PPCC and procurement officials, allowing the Commission to monitor implementation progress, respond to emerging concerns, and promote consistent utilization of the digital procurement system. The e-GP initiative forms part of the Government of Liberia’s broader efforts to modernize public procurement through digital transformation, with the objectives of promoting transparency, accountability, efficiency, and fair competition in the award and management of public contracts.
The PPCC reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with all government institutions to address implementation challenges and ensure the successful adoption and effective utilization of the e-GP system nationwide.
