The Administration of John F. Kennedy Medical Center (JFKMC) has strongly condemned the unauthorized filming and circulation of videos showing patients seeking medical attention at the institution.

The hospital in a press statement issued on Monday, November 2, 2026, said it is particularly concerned about a video reportedly recorded and shared on social media by an individual identified as Will Debo, which depicts patients attending clinical visits without their apparent consent.

According to the Hospital Management Team, such actions raise serious concerns about patients’ privacy, dignity, and fundamental rights.

The administration reminded the public that Article 16 of the 1986 Constitution of the Republic of Liberia protects individuals against unlawful interference with their privacy.

The statement further noted that Chapter 19, Section 19.1 of the New Penal Law (Title 26) addresses certain forms of unlawful surveillance and recording, though the applicability of these provisions depends on the specific circumstances of each incident.

Consequently, the Medical Center has called for the immediate withdrawal of the video from public circulation and the cessation of any further distribution across social media platforms and other communication channels.

The Administration however called on individual responsible, as well as those who have shared the video, to respect patients’ privacy and refrain from further unauthorized filming or distribution of identifiable patient images.

The statement noted that while JFKMC recognizes the public’s right to raise concerns about healthcare services and demand institutional accountability, such rights must be exercised responsibly and without compromising patients’ privacy and dignity.

Members of the public are encouraged to channel complaints through appropriate institutional channels.

The hospital warned that failure to comply with its demand may result in appropriate legal action under the laws.

The hospital reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights, dignity, and confidentiality of every patient under its care.
