The Lofa County Health Team has successfully completed an ultrasound training program for healthcare practitioners from various health facilities across the county, aimed at improving maternal healthcare services and strengthening the early detection of pregnancy-related complications.
The training, conducted by the Ministry of Health, concluded on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital in Voinjama City, Lofa County.
The initiative was designed to enhance healthcare workers’ capacity to operate ultrasound technology to identify potential maternal complications early, support timely clinical interventions, and improve health outcomes for pregnant women and their babies.
Through the training, participating healthcare practitioners are expected to strengthen their technical skills and contribute to the delivery of safer and more effective maternal healthcare services across Lofa County.
The successful completion of the program reflects the Ministry of Health’s continued efforts to strengthen the skills of healthcare professionals and improve the quality of healthcare services throughout Liberia.
The Lofa County Health Team welcomed the initiative, describing it as an important step toward advancing maternal health and ensuring access to safe, effective, and quality healthcare for communities across the county.
The team reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that improve healthcare delivery and promote the well-being of mothers, newborns, and the wider population.
