40ft Container Crushes Boy Grand Gedeh
A 16-tire trailer carrying a 40ft container fell in the center of Toe City, Grand Gedeh, crushing a 16 year-old juvenile Darling Boy Krayee to death instantly.
According to Inspector Conway of the Toe City Detachment of the Liberia National Police (LNP), the trailer was loaded with large quantity of cocoa bags from Ivory Coast heading towards Zwedru, the capital of Grand Gedeh.
While turning in the direction of Zwedru, the container got disconnected, falling in the center of the city, leaving a juvenile dead.
The officer indicated that the container is currently laying where it fell and there are growing fears that it might be laying on other persons.
However, the LNP is making effort to ensure that it is lifted as soon as possible before further disclosures are made relative to casualty, if any, the Police Inspector said.
The Toe City-Ivory Coast route is usually used by business people, trailers, heavy duty trucks conveying goods and passengers to and from Ivory Coast but is now in a very deplorable state.
“The driver of the trailer is currently in a protective custody for fear of mob actions,” the police said.
