17 Health Supervisors Trained

By Emmanuel Koffa

Seventeen Community Health Services Supervisors (CHSSs) have been trained in a specialized field to strengthen supervision, and support frontline community health workers.

The Training of Trainers (ToT) is conducted by the Community Health Division of the Ministry of Health MoH.

It is to improve the effectiveness of community-based healthcare delivery.

The training is to equip supervisors with additional knowledge, and skills to better mentor, support, and monitor Community Health Assistants (CHAs) assigned to communities.

CHAs serve as an important link between communities, and the formal healthcare system, making effective supervision critical to ensure that community-level health services are delivered appropriately.

The county health team says, strengthening the capacity of CHSSs will enable supervisors to provide more effective guidance to CHAs, identify challenges in the field, and support frontline workers to address the health needs of community dwellers.

The training is also expected to strengthen monitoring, and mentorship practices, which the health team considers important to maintain quality standards in community health service delivery.

The Team has meanwhile, recommitted to initiatives that will strengthen the capacity of frontline health workers.

The team says improving the skills, and competencies of health personnel remains essential to achieve better health outcomes, and ensure that communities receive quality, and accessible healthcare services.

The training brings renewed attention to the importance of investing in the people responsible to deliver healthcare services to communities.
