“You Promised Us Reconciliation” -Speaker Koffa Reminds Boakai
The Speaker of the 55th National Legislature, Cllr. Jonathan Fonati Koffa, has sharply remindedΒ President Joseph Nyuma Boakai that he promised Liberians during every gathering that it is time to change the tune as the time for politics is over and the time for governance has begun. Speaker Koffa said since the Head-of-State made these statements, there is still fear that lies within the political atmosphere of Liberia adding to build a nation it should be done through reconciliation. “Increasingly again, we are beginning to double down on reconciliation, as the country continues to witness blue and green division something that happened a few years back,β he said. Cllr. Koffa imitated that the country’s governance process will be a casualty if care is not taken to adequately address the night manic situation. The 55th National Legislature Speaker noted that reconciliation has to be genuine and stressed the need to work together to govern the country. Speaker Koffa encouraged his fellow kinsmen to see things from a Liberian perspective, not from individuals or political parties, disclosing that there are too many interests in Liberia. The Speaker made these remarks at the Golden Imagine Award Ceremony on Thursday evening at the Monrovia City Hall.
