Unity Party Apologizes To ECOWAS For Mo Ali Statement

The Unity Party says it expresses regret for a recent Facebook post in which the Campaign Spokesperson of the Rescue Mission, Mr. Mohammed Ali, wrongly accused the Economic Community of West African States(ECOWAS) of having “received US$150,000.00” to compromise its neutral role in Liberia’s 2023 electoral process. “This assertion was at no time sanctioned by the Unity Party, our Standard-bearer or Campaign Team,” a press statement said.

It should be noted that the UP does recognize and value the indispensable role ECOWAS has played in Liberia’s rebirth and renewal. Consistent with the UP’s Policy of strengthening Liberia’s participation in ECOWAS, the UP herewith reassures ECOWAS, United Nations and Liberia’s bilateral and multilateral Partners of its unflinching commitment to all protocols which Liberia has either acceded to,signed or ratified. The UP therefore regrets Mr. Mohammed Ali’s assertion, which he is aware does not reflect that of the Unity Party.
