U.S. Reaffirms Liberia’s Security Partnership

U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires, Joe Zadrozny, has reaffirmed the United States’ strong, and enduring partnership with Liberia. The latest followed a high-level security engagement with Liberia’s top law enforcement officials.  Zadrozny met with Liberia National Police (LNP) Inspector General Gregory O.W. Coleman, and Executive Protection Service (EPS) Director Sam Gaye, as both countries continue efforts to strengthen security cooperation, and the rule of law.

During the meeting, Zadrozny reiterated that the United States stands firmly with its Liberian partners as the country works to strengthen its security, and legal institutions. The engagement underscored Washington’s continued support for efforts to promote effective law enforcement, institutional accountability, and respect for the rule of law.

Zadrozny emphasized the importance of a strong, and just legal system.

He noted that accountable institutions are not only beneficial to Liberia, but also contribute to regional stability.  Zadrozny’s remarks highlighted the shared interest between Liberia, and the United States in ensuring that security institutions operate effectively while maintaining public trust, and accountability.

The meeting with IG Coleman, and EPS Director Gaye, also reflects the longstanding security relationship between Liberia, and the United States.

Cooperation between the two countries has included efforts to strengthen law enforcement capabilities, improve institutional professionalism, and address security challenges that could affect Liberia, and the wider West African region.

The U.S. Embassy said, it proudly reaffirms its continued partnership with the government, and people of Liberia.  The statement signals Washington’s willingness to remain engaged with Liberia as the country advances initiatives designed to improve security, strengthen legal institutions, and promote an environment conducive to peace, and prosperity.

The latest engagement is expected to further broaden collaboration between Liberia, and the United States on security, and institutional development.  With both nations emphasizing the importance of law, and order, accountability, and regional stability, the partnership remains a significant pillar of the deep, and enduring friendship between Liberia, and the United States.
