Tortured, Human Rights Violations, Corruption Hints: Sanctions Wrap Government Officials
The Gedehhard GHT Talkfm (GHT DDD) has reported that a number of senior government officials of the Unity Party of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s Government are on sanctions’ list for being part of an organized wave of “Torture, Sodomy, Human Rights Violations, Corruptions” and other crimes committed in Liberia.
Those allegedly involved to face sanctions are said to be National Security Advisor Samuel Kofi Woods, Justice Minister Oswald Tweh, Liberia National Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman, National Security Agency Deputy Director Ernest Tarpeh and Harrold Jones of the LNP.
It is alleged that these men were involved in the arrest and subsequent turning over of a Liberian citizen and a Guinean to the Guinean Junta who were allegedly murdered.
Furthermore, these officials were allegedly involved in aiding and abetting the torture and sodomizing of the Capitol Building Fire suspects.
Two of those suspects- Andrew Lawson and Albert Weah, currently out of Liberia, were reportedly assessed by medical professionals who verified their claims of Torture and Sodomy allegedly on orders of, and knowledge of these officials of government. Lawson and Weah were to serve as State Witnesses against Speaker J. Fonati Koffa and others in Capitol Building fire incident.
In another development, Liberia lost the chance and opportunity to be elected to the United Nations Security Council, allegedly due to the leadership crisis at the Capitol Building and reported widespread abuses and human rights violations in Liberia, which contravene the Geneva Convention.
ECOWAS Delegation at the UN could not make the case for Liberia amidst all of what is happening in the country. The delegation reportedly requested that President Boakai officially communicate with ECOWAS that Rep. Richard N. Koon is the Speaker or else they will continue to recognize Speaker J. Fonati Koffa as the legitimate Speaker of the House of Representatives of Liberia.
A GHT DDD source at the United Nations in New York has been reported as noting that ECOWAS couldn’t convince the rest of the Ambassadors at the UN that Liberia was ready for the mantle. “The cases of Torture, Sodomy, Capitol Building Fire and Leadership impasse played major roles in Liberia being denied,” the source is quoted as revealing.
“Our sources in Monrovia are reporting that Rep. Richard N. Koon is pleading or begging Speaker J. Fonati Koffa to resign and allow him to be Speaker. We are Digging Deeper into this fast- developing story,” Gedehhard GHT Talkfm through SAPA TV Liberia has noted.
