Bong County Administrator and Acting Superintendent, Sam Elliott, has identified poor communication between community members, and stakeholders as a major factor contributing to problems affecting Tokpaipolu Clan.
The clan has been embroiled in a series of confusions over the years due to the the coming of the a mining company in the area.
Elliott made the statement on Saturday, September 12, during a daylong community dialogue held with inhabitants of Tokpaipolu Clan in Tokpaipolu Town.
The meeting brought together community members, and stakeholders, who discussed outstanding concerns affecting the clan, and explored ways to improve cooperation and development.
Elliott told the gathering that stronger communication, and coordination among the divided parties was necessary to prevent misunderstandings, and create an environment conducive for community development.
He pledged to reunite the West Crest Company, and the locals, saying: “Cooperation between the company, and the community was important to advance development.
Elliot meanwhile, instructed the administration of West Crest Company to submit proper reports to the county administration ahead of the next community engagement.
He said, the reports should be submitted by the fourth Saturday in October, after the county administration, and community stakeholders to review the company’s activities, and outstanding commitments to avoid further confusion.
Elliott also directed the Community Building Committee to prepare, and present a comprehensive report during the next meeting.
The Commissioner was similarly instructed to provide a detailed report on matters under his responsibility during the same engagement.
In addition, the School Building Committee was directed to present the blueprint for the proposed school project at the next meeting.
