Deputy Information Minister Daniel Sando says, international community is “very happy” with Liberia’s efforts to clamp down on drug cartels, and illicit drug trafficking.

Sando made the disclosure at the Ministry of Information Tuesday’s media engagement in Monrovia.

He spoke of how the government anti-drug efforts have received support from international partners.

Sando pointed to Boakai’s ongoing international engagements.

“I am very sure that the entire world is happy with the way the government has clamped down on drug cartels.”

Liberia’s international engagements, and the support being received from international partners demonstrate growing international attention to the government’s efforts in fighting the drugs menace and other vices.

“You can see that from the international engagements that the President is currently having out there, and you can see that from the support we are getting from our international partners.”

Sando also dismissed claims linking recent security incidents involving Vice President Jeremiah Koung at Brussels Airport and the Lone Star delegation in Rwanda to the proliferation of illicit drugs in the country.

“Liberia is doing well as far as this investigation is concerned.”
