A 56-year-old teacher, Benedict Mehin, has been reported missing in Totota, Bong County.

Mehin reportedly left home for his farm in the Sugar Hill Community on Wednesday, September 30, but his whereabout had remained unknow since that fateful day.

Prior to his mysterious disappearance, Mehin taught at Quilimin Toto Public School in Maimu Town.

He was last seen in the Sugar Hill Community when he went ‘missing.’

Family members recalled how Mehin told relatives that he was going to his farm in search of herbs he intended to treat jaundice, or yellow fever he suffered.

He has not returned to the classroom since he left the scene.

His disappearance has prompted family and community members to launch a search for him.

His wife, Janet Mehin, told journalists that the family has made efforts to locate her husband in the community, at his farm and in nearby areas, but the search has so far yielded no information about his whereabouts.

Janet described the situation as a source of serious concern, and uncertainty for the locals he family.

She has meanwhile, appealed to community leaders, security authorities, and the locals to locate her husband.

“We are very worried because we have searched several places, but have not been able to find him,” Janet cried.

Residents of Sugar Hill have also joined efforts to search surrounding bushes, farms and other areas where Mehin may have gone.

Some residents have offered different explanations for his disappearance, including unverified claims involving traditional beliefs.

However, there is currently no confirmed evidence publicly establishing what had happened to the missing teacher.

Local authorities had not issued an official statement on the case at the time of reporting.

Community members said, search teams were being organized to cover areas around Sugar Hill, and nearby communities as efforts to locate Mehin continue.

The family has meanwhile, appealed to anyone who may have information concerning Mehin’s whereabouts to immediately contact the nearest police station, community leader, or his relatives.
