Success Minor Wins ALJA’s Midwest Chapter Presidency By: Julius Konton
Former District Number Thirteen Representative Aspirant, Success Minor, has been elected President of the Midwest Chapter of the Association of Liberian Journalists in the Americas (ALJA)
The diligent and astute Liberian journalist very passionate to lead will now serve his colleagues at the highest level in his sector for the next two years.
Mr. Minor who slows down his legislative ambition for personal reasons continues to make his impact felt across all spectrums of the society.
Currently, he is continuing his scholarship programs within District Thirteen, Montserrado County.
Additionally, Mr. Minor is empowering women and youths in the district with vocational and skills Training programs including other self help developmental initiatives intended to transform the District, County and Country in general.
Always willing to give back to his people; the newly elected President of ALJA’s Midwest Chapter promised to serve his colleagues with passion and commitment.
Poised to be inducted into office along with other elected colleagues soon, the young and professional Liberian journalist assured his colleagues that he will work along with his team to help transform the Midwest Chapter of the media body.
He named transparency, accountability, good governance, inclusiveness, equal opportunity, membership welfare, sound advocacy and capacity development as key areas of priorities to be focused by his leadership for the next two years.
Mr. Minor who is closely following the ongoing political activities in Liberia, urged residents of his district and Liberians in general to see peace as the ultimate and chief cornerstone towards the forward march of the country.
He wants the decisions that Liberians will make on October 10, 2023 to be a true reflection of the change that the people of Liberia deserve.
“To my young people especially first time voters, let’s remain peaceful, resilient, focus and ensure that your decision will be in your best interest”, he added.
At the same time, the former representative hopeful now President of the Midwest Chapter of the Association of Liberian Journalists in the Americas, encouraged all politicians to put the country first and see the political activities as an event that will come and go but the country will always remain.
“Let’s discuss the issues and avoid violence including attacking personalities”, he re-emphasized.
Meanwhile, the newly elected officials who are expected to steer the affairs of ALJA’s Midwest chapter for the next two years are expected to be inducted into office in the twin City of Minneapolis, Minnesota on this Saturday September 16, 2023.
Those elected and expected to be inducted into office include Success A. Minor, President, Lassana Bamba, Vice President, James Bleetan, Secretary General, and Lisa Willie, Financial Secretary General.
