“We have to stop following the United States of America. Let’s join the new area of sovereignty, respectability.”
Madam Sirleaf noted that Africa, and the world are changing, while Liberia cannot afford to be left behind.”
She urged Liberians to take responsibility for changing the country, and developing systems that suit its own needs rather than continuing to copy foreign models.
Madam Sirleaf made the remark to journalists in Monrovia on Tuesday, October 6, following her participation in a day-long Governance Commission symposium.
The event marked the October as a Month of Good Governance at its office on 3rd Street, Sinkor.
