Sinoe Supt. Admits Failures
Sinoe County Superintendent Nah Sleweon (popularly known as Kloa Pee), has openly acknowledged years of local governance failures, and infrastructural decay in the county.
Sleweon’s admittance was in a rare and unusually candid political statement that placed significant blame on past administrations.
He simultaneously appealed directly to citizens to finance development efforts through a new public fundraising initiative.
Supt. Sleweon’s recent statement was contained in his address to his compatriots.
In a strongly worded message, Sleweon described Sinoe as “underdeveloped.”
He cited both “internal shortcomings, and the inaction of our past local appointed officials.”
His remarks paint a grim picture of Greenville, the county capital, which he said, has lost vitality and is now, “dirty and overgrown with bushes.”
Sleweon further admitted institutional weakness in the Greenville City Corporation (GCC). He added: “The city authority lacks the capacity to independently clean and maintain the capital city.”
This admission raises serious concerns about local governance capacity, resource management, and administrative effectiveness in the county.
“Funds from the central government are not enough. Years of systemic failure have eroded public trust, and discouraged residents’ participation in the county development.
While acknowledging public frustration, Sleweon insisted that rebuilding trust is possible if government resources are to benefit all parts of the county.
In a move that has already sparked debate, Sleweon has meanwhile, announced the launch of the “Sinoe Dollar Rally,” a countywide and diaspora-driven fundraising campaign to generate resources for infrastructure development.
