‘Scaring, worrisome’ -Weah’s Aide Alarms AFL Soldiers, LNP Record Presence At Ex-President Arrival

Sekou Kalasco Damaro, former Presidential Aide to Ex-President George Manneh Weah, has described as scaring and worrisome, the huge deployment of the Arm Forces of Liberia (AFL) and the Liberia National Police (LNP) at the Robert International Airport (RIA) on Saturday, July 13, 2024 during the arrival of the former President and Political Leader of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC). Former Presidential Aide Kalasco stated that it was very wrong on the part of the government of President Joseph N. Boakai to have seen the huge deployment of men from the AFL and Police Officers at the RIA where sympathizers, partisans, friends, well-wishers of the CDC who gone to welcome back home their former President  and Political Leader from abroad. He noted that this act on the part of the government could cause tension in the country. Former Presidential Aids Kalasco also stated that the form and manner in which the Boakai Government is proceeding with the state of Affairs, appears that they want to return the country back to the dark days. The former Presidential Aide raised the alarm Tuesday, July 16, 2024 when he appeared on the OK FM afternoon show in Monrovia. According to him, since this government took over the leadership of the country, they have not been recognizing former President Weah as former President of Liberia by action of denying him the usage of the VP Lounge at the RIA. Former Presidential Aide Kalasco informed the public that when  Weah was President of the country at the time, President Boakai now was former Vice President, he was accorded all of the respect by former President  Weah. He disclosed that at the time former President Weah was President regularly, he (Kalasco) was sent by Ex-President Weah to visit the home of former Vice President Boakai, now President of Liberia, to see how he was coming on with life. He told the public that former President Weah remained a peaceful leader and has great respect for the rule of law. The former Presidential Aide stated that since this government took over the leadership of the country, there have been massive dismissals of innocent Liberians from various government ministries and agencies. He further noted that to the extent; people have been taken from tenure positions of government. Former Presidential Aide Kalasco informed the public that when former President Weah won the Election in 2017, nobody was taken from jobs by the past government. He stated that every Liberian was incorporated in former President Weah’s government irrespective of their political affiliation.
