All of us are doing the same thing;
All of us pretend to know God;
All of us are singing the same song;
All of us are beating the same drum;
All of us are committing similar sins;
All of us are fighting similar battles;
All of us are bending beneath the ruthless devil;
All of us are carrying the weight of frustration;
All of us are living in this sin-driven world;
All of us are blindly walking along similar paths;
All of us are rudely speaking a similar language.
We do the same things as a way of life;
We harbor deep-seated malice in our minds;
We harbor deep-seated hatred in our hearts;
We allow temptation to lead us astray;
We wear white teeth while carrying black hearts.
We point our fingers at one another,
Yet our hands are stained with similar sins.
We condemn the darkness in others
While hiding shadows within ourselves.
We sing about God with our lips,
Yet often deny Him through our actions.
We beat the drum of righteousness loudly,
Yet quietly dance with temptation.
Perhaps the greatest battle before us
Is not the battle against one another,
But the battle within ourselves.
We are doing the same thing—
Walking through the same troubled world,
Fighting different battles with similar wounds,
Searching for light while carrying darkness,
And seeking God while struggling with sin.
